The Cape Fear Holiday Classic and Novice Event

November 30-December 1, 2018

We are excited to host a six round qualifying debate tournament during our annual novice speech and debate event! The Novice Tournament will offer all of the CCofSE speech events for all ages plus four rounds of novice debate. The Cape Fear Holiday Classic will give experienced debaters the opportunity to compete in a six round qualifying tournament.

The Novice Event will take place only on Saturday December 1, 2018.

The Cape Fear Holiday Classic will begin with 2 rounds on Friday evening, November 30 and finish on Saturday, December 1. Please see the schedule for details.

Registration:

  • Due to time and room constraints at this event, only the novice debaters can compete in speech events and are limited to one.
  • Registration opens on November 5, 2018 at 9 am and will close November 14, 2018 at 10 pm. Please register carefully as there are multiple options at this dual track event. Contact Rhonda at rural.homeschool.mom@gmail.com if you have questions or want to confirm your family registration fee. Refunds will not be given. Please ask questions prior to making the payment.
  • CCofSE Membership is not required for the novice event participants. You will need to join prior to any regularly scheduled two day events scheduled in 2019.
  • CCofSE Membership is required for the Cape Fear Holiday Classic participants. Join here.
  • Payments must be made via PayPal by Monday November 19. If your payment is not received by November 19, your registration and food orders will be cancelled. Contact Rhonda at rural.homeschool.mom@gmail.com if you have questions or difficulty with PayPal.

Judges:

Each student must submit the name of a parent/family member judge who will be remain on the Southview Baptist Church campus for the entire tournament. Please attend the earliest available training sessions so you can be available to judge speech and/or debate throughout the tournament. Please remain in the building so you can be located when it's your turn to judge.

Food:

Lunch and snacks will not be provided.
During the registration process, you will have the opportunity to purchase Chick-fil-A sandwich meals for your family. if you choose, not to order from CFA, please bring your lunch.
